Position Overview
We are seeking a Play Therapist to join our Trumbull practice as an independent contractor (1099).
This opportunity is ideal for an independently licensed clinician who enjoys working with children and families and is looking for the flexibility and autonomy of independent contractor work while benefiting from an established group practice and referral network.
Contractors are compensated based on a percentage of revenue from completed sessions each week, allowing earning potential to grow with caseload.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and play-based therapy to children ages 5–13.
- Engage and collaborate with parents and caregivers as is clinically appropriate.
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation.
- Collaborate with schools and other providers when clinically appropriate.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with Connecticut licensing requirements.
- Independently manage and structure your clinical schedule based on your desired caseload and availability.
Scheduling & Caseload
This position offers flexible scheduling and autonomy over your caseload.
Because the majority of referrals for this position are school-aged children, clinicians interested in building a larger caseload should expect that after-school and evening availability will provide the greatest opportunity for referrals. Saturday availability is welcomed but is not required.
Contractors determine their own availability and the number of clients they wish to accept.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
- Current independent Connecticut clinical license (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT).
- Experience working with children and caregivers.
- Strong understanding of child development and the ability to tailor interventions to the developmental and individual needs of each child.
- Training in play therapy or demonstrated experience utilizing play-based interventions.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, organizational skills, and professional reliability.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating appropriately with a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Compensation
- Percentage-based compensation for completed sessions each week.
- Compensation grows based on the clinician's completed caseload.
- Specific percentage and compensation structure will be discussed during the interview process.
- This is a 1099 independent contractor position and does not include employee benefits.
