Shrouk Samhan is a licensed social worker who has experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families through a wide range of mental health and life challenges. She is especially passionate about working with children and adolescents, while also supporting individuals of all ages and identities.
Shrouk has four years of experience working with children and families in the foster care system. Through this work, she developed a deep understanding of trauma, family dynamics, parenting challenges, attachment, resilience, and the importance of building safe and trusting relationships.
Shrouk supports clients experiencing trauma symptoms, parenting concerns, depression, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, and relationship problems. She works to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel understood, respected, and supported as they move toward healing and growth.
Shrouk received her Bachelor’s degree from Sacred Heart University and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the UConn School of Social Work. After graduating in 2020, she began her career in the child welfare system, where she worked closely with children and families navigating complex emotional and relational needs.
Shrouk’s ultimate goal is to help clients forge a healing connection in therapy that can be carried outside of the therapy room and into daily relationships.
Shrouk’s therapeutic approach is warm, genuine, and integrative. She focuses on building trust with clients through empathy, positivity, and unconditional support while also offering thoughtful challenges when appropriate.
Shrouk believes that a strong therapeutic relationship can be a powerful foundation for healing. She works to create a space where clients can feel safe enough to explore difficult experiences, understand emotional patterns, and practice new ways of relating to themselves and others.
Her approach is flexible and responsive to each client’s needs. She supports children, adolescents, parents, and adults in developing coping skills, strengthening self-esteem, improving relationships, and working through emotional or behavioral challenges.
